CBP One: The app through which the United States is granting asylum visas

The Customs and Border Protection Office enabled a function in it´s mobile app for immigrants to make asylum applications.

The Customs and Border Protection (CBP) agency has enabled a feature in its mobile app for immigrants to apply for asylum. This app was launched in October 2020 to manage various immigration-related processes. However, in 2023, due to the Biden administration, a feature was added for people seeking asylum in the United States.

Currently, CBP One is the main method for immigrants to seek asylum and legal entry into the United States. The app allows migrants to fill out a form with their information and schedule an appointment with CBP for guidance.

CBP One is available for free on Google Play and the App Store in both English and Spanish. To use the app, users must create an account, which requires an email address and password. Once logged in, users can access information about asylum programs, complete the required form, and schedule an appointment.

After completing the process, immigrants will receive a date up to 14 days in advance on which they must present themselves at one of the eight border entry ports in the states of California, Arizona, and Texas. It is important to note that the app allows only a limited number of appointments per day, so not everyone can complete the process immediately through the app.

In conclusion, CBP One is becoming an increasingly widely used tool in the visa granting process for asylum seekers, and it is likely to continue to improve and transform the immigration system in the United States in the future.
